Job Description

What’s The Role

This role works as a business partner to the entire BTC team, navigates in a matrix organization helping to influence, challenge and support the achievement of the business strategy through our people.The objective of this role is to assist in driving and implementing the People strategy that aligns to the needs of the organization, as well as to the wider LLA.

This role is responsible for providing support to the Director of People and provides HR leadership and direction by managing and implementing company's HR programmes and services including talent acquisition, employment processing, compensation, benefits, training and development, records management, employee relations and HR policies, programs and practices.

Knowledge & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required or equivalent experience.
  • Previous experience as Business Partner (min. 8 years).
  • Previous knowledge of working in a unionized environment would be an asset.
  • High degree of business acumen.
  • A high-level understanding of all aspects of the People function (including Compensation, Benefits, Training, Organizational, Development, Employee Relations, Recruiting, etc.)

Skills & Abilities

  • Microsoft Office, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills.
  • Highly skilled at managing relationships and conflicting priorities, with the ability to coach and develop professionals.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written and presentation skills. 
  • Self-directed individual with initiative, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A high level of skills in managing major organizational change.

What You´ll Do

  • Partner with business leaders to assist in driving the People strategy that supports and is in alignment with C&W business goals. 
  • Build a strong relationship with the leaders within in the business to achieve a strategic partnership based on a consultative approach.
  • Work collaboratively across the People Team, especially with Caribbean colleagues, to support and project manage cross-People Team initiatives e.g. talent and succession management, leadership development, etc.
  • Drive tangible improvements in people engagement. 
  • Analyse data to drive improvements in all aspects of people management including engagement, attrition, attendance management, reward and recognition, resourcing and benchmarking.
  • Promote a high-performance culture and ensure talent is identified and developed to contribute to our competitive edge.
  • Ensure a strong customer-focused, high-quality, people service is delivered to the business.
