The Release Train Engineer is a servant Leader and Coach to our growing B2B Delivery team who will spearhead the next phase of our Agile Transformation.  Working with cross-functional delivery teams including Commercial, CX, Design, Development, QA, DevOps and Operations to deliver complex solutions in 5 OpCos and 30+ countries across the Caribbean and Latin America.  The RTE will provide coaching on scaling agile based on SAFe best practices, coaching Scrum Masters, organizing ART events and thriving for continuous improvement in our journey to deliver value to our users and delight our customers.

  • Owns and drives the B2B IT Transformation from the existing legacy IT stacks in LLA to, ideally, a single new stack that will deliver the required efficiency, stability and functionality to support Liberty Latin America’s LRP growth plans and increased customer satisfaction. Drives Business Case, Stakeholder engagement & management and delivers on commitments.
  • Collaborate with leaders and contributors from across the T&I and Commercial organization to create and deliver a unified release train aligned to business results
  • Manages and optimizes the flow of value to the business by continuously monitoring and evolving the release train
  • Facilitate PI Planning readiness by fostering a Continuous Exploration process which drives the synthesis of a Vision, a Roadmap, and Backlogs, and through Pre- and Post-PI Planning events
  • Owns & drives the delivery of the operational, tactical and strategic roadmap for B2B IT solutions within LLA.
  • Assures timely, cost effective and quality delivery of the required changes on the existing B2B IT platforms in LLA through working with Solution Design, Product, Test and Release teams to translate the requirements of stakeholders into B2B IT solutions and delivers these solutions to support the operational, tactical execution of the business strategy.
  • Proactively works to improve the stability and performance of the existing & new LLA B2B IT Solutions by working with Operations and other IT teams ensuring quality and reliability are hallmarks of the solutions provided.
  • Coach leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in Lean-Agile practices and mindsets
  • Owns unit, system & module testing for all LLA B2B IT solutions ensuring quality and timely solutions are delivered within budget.
  • Owns B2B ITservice level management for LLA and ensures service levels are met.
  • Owns L3 and L4 support for LLA B2B IT solutions
  • Maintains and improves relationships with key stakeholders and peers in the operating countries and key vendor partners.
  • Provides clear leadership to team ensuring the right knowledge and skill sets are in place to tactically deliver and support strategic objectives.
  • Fosters a customer-focused approach and ensures effective team working; encourages ownership and initiative as well as ensuring that lessons are learnt after failures.
  • Advises and influences business clients and customers, as a trusted partner, regarding the delivery, costs, availability and functionality of services and systems. Represents IT B2B & Enterprise Solutions at a senior level, both externally and internally.
  • Manages budget for function and supports the annual budget submission.
  • Graduate level (Bachelors or higher) degree in an Information Technology or related field.
  • MBA is a plus
  • 10+ years work experience with at least 5 years experience managing teams and large scale software portfolios or deployments
  • Project Management background with working experience in Agile practices; Scrum, XP, Kanban, Lean Portfolio Management,
  • SAFe Certified Release Train Engineer with proven work experience implementing SAFe. Equivalent Enterprise Agile methodology experience could be considered (e.g. Spotify, LeSS, etc.)
  • Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), including general DevOps practices, XP, TDD/BDD, Shift Left, CI/CD, etc.
  • Experience and training in agile development (Scrum, XP, Kanban, etc.) and exposure to Agile at scale methodologies (Safe, Spotify, LeSS)
  • A data-driven mindset with familiarity in using OKRs, SPIs and SLOs to align business objectives with team performance
  • Familiarity with SOX, GITC and principles of DevSecOps
  • Telecoms experience preferred with knowledge of BSS/OSS technologies
  • Experience working with Salesforce or similar CRM (Oracle, SAP, Pega, ServiceNow, MS Dynamics)
  • Strong record of people management in a technical environment, including communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to form strong business relationships across all functions
  • Extensive proven experience of project management techniques including planning, resource allocation, prioritization and escalation within an international telecom environment.
  • Strong vendor management experience. Expertise in driving operational efficiencies through innovative partner and vendor management
  • Demonstrate strong influencing and persuading skills, encourage colleagues and teams to change established processes and achieve improvements and best practice
  • Demonstrates strong political awareness and influence
